Cg II. 04 This letter is being written to request an official change in the requirements as set forth in Section 4.A.l.g of the AEC Technical Specifications, Appendix B, for the Turkey Point electric generating plant, Operating Licenses DPR 31 and 41.
As presently written, this Section of the Technical Specifications states that a one year study will be performed from July 1, 1973 to July 1, 1974.
The purpose of this study is to assess the potential effect on surrounding bodies of water of discharge from the plant under emergency conditions.
A written report is to be submitted to the AEC 60 days after completion of the study; i.e.,
on September 1, 1974.
This study has been funded and is being conducted by a qualified scientist at the University of Miami.
An unavoidable delay in the initiation of this work resulted both from our wish to have a relevant indicator species assayed and the already full schedule of the biology scientist expert in that partic-ular field.
Consequently, this study was started on October 1, 1973 rather than July 1, 1973 as originally anticipated.
The one year of study will, therefore, be complete on, October 1, 1974.
This letter is a request that we be permitted to submit the results of this program to you by written report on November 1, 1974 rather than the present required'eptember 1,
1974 deadline.
