Item 6 of IE Bulletin 75-04A requires a schedule for accomplishment of any revisions to our policies and procedures, and any proposed changes to the facility, to assure that consideration for alternate methods for accomplishing an orderly plant shutdown. and cooldown are provided in case of loss of normal and preferred alternate shutdown and cooldown systems at the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant.

Our letter to you dated June 27, 1975 provided this schedule.

Xn addition, Xtem 6 requests monthly summary reports detailing our progress. in this work.

Our letter to you dated July 30, 1975 was the first such monthly

report, and this letter is the second..

A meeting of American'Electric Power Service Corporation engineers and the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant operating staff was held at the plant on august 5, 1975 to review and make final a list of components needed for safe shutdoirn and cooldown following the postulated event.

A list of associated instrumentation was also agreed upon.

The possibility of local instrumentation and instrumentation

.'anels to monitor critical parameters, as well as the locations of these local panels, was discussed.

Mr. J.

G. Keppler August 27 ) 1975 Electrical engineering vork'is proceeding on schedule and consists of the compilation of instructions for the operating staff for local control of the necessary components exclusive of those vhich require electrical changes or additions.'he instructions consist of sequential steps for the most direct, and least time consuming, method of accomplishing local operation.

Work is continuing to determine those components vhich require electrical changes or additions to assure that local control vill be possible in 0he event of loss of control from the control room.

Very truly yours, RSH:ma R.
