Item 6 of IE Bulletin 7g-04A requires a schedule for accomplishment of any revision to our policies and procedures and any proposed changes to the facility, to assure that consideration for alternate methods for accomplishing an orderly plant shutdown and cooldown

'are provided in case of loss of normal and preferred alternate shutdown and cooldown systems at the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant. Our letter to you dated June 27, 1975 provided this schedule.

In addition, Item 6 requests summary reports detailing our monthly progr'ess. This letter is the eighth such monthly report.

The AEPSC Nuclear Safety and Design Review Subcommittee on Proposed Changes has now completed their review of the physical changes to be made so that a number of air-operated valves may be locally controlled, and local instrumentation panels installed to monitor critical parameters following loss of control from the control room.

The design of the above-mentioned panels is progressing and contractors are being considered to construct them. The mounting locations of the panels and the MAR )97m

Mr. O'. G. Keppler F~ebruary 26, 1976 arrangement of instruments have been decided and their drawings are being prepared.

A schedule for the procurement, fabrication and installation of the new equipment is being prepared and should be available for our next monthly report.
