Ke 1'er Re ional Director Gentlemen:
Item 6 of IE Bulletin 75-04A requires a schedule for accomplishment of any revision to our policies and procedures and any proposed changes to the facility, to assure that consideration for alternate methods for accomplishing an orderly plant shutdown and cooldown are provided in case of loss of normal and preferred alternate shutdown and cooldown systems at the Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant.
Our letter to you dated June 27, 1975 provided this schedule.
In addition, Item 6 requests summary reports detailing our monthly progress.
This letter is the tenth such monthly report.
The Cook Nuclear Plant is now in a scheduled outage.
The required changes to air supply lines to air-operated valves required for local control of shutdown are being made.

'pril 30, 1976 A bid received from our contractor for constructing the Local Shutdown Instrumentation
- Panels, has been reviewed and found acceptable.
A signed contract will be forwarded to them within the next few days and the panels should be available in 10 to 12 weeks following the start of their fabrication.
Most panel
- hardware, such as indicators,
- breakers, transformers and power supplies, have been received.
The rest is expected shortly.
Another outage is required for completing the wiring-in of one of the LSX panels following its installation.
Therefore, as was mentioned in our last monthly progress letter dated March 30,
- 1976, we cannot expect all work.on these changes to be completed until the first extensive unit outage following receipt and installation,...
of the panels.
Very truly yours, R,
