Dear Mr. Keppler:
Operating License DPR-58 Docket No. 50-315 This letter is to confirm our verbal report to NRC RO:III Inspector, K.R. Baker, on January 26, 1977.
At that time we reported an event which occurred on January 19, 1977.
With no RHR flow to the core, we failed to suspend core alterations as required by the Technical Specifications Section 3.9.8.
During preliminary reviews, this occurrence was classified as a 30-day report.
Subsequent reviews indicated that this should be a 14-day report and prompted the submittal of this notification.
Our investigation is continuing and a formal report will be submitted as required by NRC Regulatory Guide 1. 16, Revision 4, by February 2, 1977.
