Xn our August 16, 1976 letter, we responded to 1E Bulletin No. 76-07 and XE Circular No. 76-01 both entitled "Crane Hoist Control Circuit Ytodifications," for book Nuclear Plant Units 1 and 2y respectively.
Xn that letter, we indicated. that we had not, made nor did we intend. to make any modifications to the crane hoist con~rois similar to the modifications described. in the Bulletin and Circular.
Since that response,"
the NRC Resident Inspector has indicated that a response to Action Xtem l. (c) is necessary even though we are not making any modifications.
This item states:
1.
(c) "What steps have been taken or are planned.,
to provide assurance that brake power contactors are adeouate for the service~"
Lle have contacted the cran~ manufacturer,
'<lhiting Corporation, and they have given us assurance that "the brake contactor sizes are adequate by means of the design verification."
Tn addition, they have upplied. us with all of the necessary information on the brake contactor sizing for the service involved.
