1. Letter from Scott Sharp (NSPM), to Document Control Desk (NRG), "Interim Report of a Deviation or Failure to Comply," L-Pl-18-034, dated May 30, 2018 (ADAMS Accession No. ML18150A689)

Northern States Power Company, a Minnesota Corporation, (NSPM), doing business as Xcel Energy, hereby submits this follow-up report to the interim report (Reference 1) submitted pursuant to 10 CFR 21.21 (a)(2) regarding a failed pressure switch manufactured by AMOT; model 4140CR 1E32AA0, purchased from Paragon (formerly ATC) under their 10 CFR 50 Appendix B program.

NSPM returned the pressure switch to Paragon to evaluate. Paragon performed an as-found inspection to verify the part was manufactured to design requirements. Paragon has assurance that there was no manufacturing defect or deviation from design on this part.

Paragon has provided Prairie Island 52 pressure switch units and only one has failed in this manner. As a result, this condition is not reportable under 10 CFR 21.
