With that being said I also hope you take everything everycme is saying with a grain of salt because they are scared. Scared of the unknown: But fear of the*
unknown-is-not rea~on enough-to halt a much-needed-project-like the-one Holtec is trying to bring to New Mexico.
What I don't think people realize is that this is much bigger than New Mexico. I don't like the nuclear industry but I'm not naive enough tc;, think that my dislike of it is enough to stop the industry or naive enough to not realize that there is a current problem that needs a solution. A solution that we New Mexicans can provide for the whole country: Even if the nuclear industry were to stop today, there still is the present problem of storing t_he waste. Also with the current administration it is more likely that' the industry will increase. I would rather have a temporary safe solution than to keep stalling in hopes for.a permanent solution where there is more of a chance of a worse event happening because we couldn't get to it now. I truly belit;!Ve that this interim storage facility.is the best next step for not only New Mexico but also the country as a whole. This solution is bigger than the residents of New Mexico.
