OF PUBLIC MEETING BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND THE NUCLEAR ENERGY INSTITUTE TO DISCUSS TOPICS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DRAFT TECHNICAL REPORT: UPDATED IMPLEMENTATION GUIDELINES FOR SENIOR SEISMIC HAZARD ANALYSIS COMMITTEE HAZARD STUDIES On July 18, 2018, the staff from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a Category 2 public meeting at One White Flint North and via teleconference with the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and other stakeholders to discuss topics associated with the Draft Technical Report: Updated Implementation Guidelines for Senior Seismic Hazard Analysis Committee (SSHAC) Hazard Studies (Agencywide Document Access Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML18151A069).
Background
The meeting started with brief introductions and identification of the callers, and an NRC overview of the meeting purpose and how the meeting discussion would be documented.
Patricia Vokoun, NRC, greeted telecom attendees, introduced the objective of the meeting, went over some administrative items, and then had attendees introduce themselves and their affiliations.

J. Rankin Jon Kapitz, NEI, introduced NEI comments (ADAMS Accession No. ML18208A332). All items were discussed related to the guidance under development. NRC will review and consider the feedback prior to finalizing the SSHAC guidelines.
After this discussion, the public was given the opportunity to comment and ask questions. A comment was offered relative to nuclear engineering and design. After the meeting, related comments were submitted (ADAMS Accession No. ML18208A330).
Action Items/Next Steps NRC will review and consider comments and discuss the path forward.
