Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commissin,
I am a resident of New Mexico who lives in Albuquerque. I am writing because I do not consent to storage of high-level radioactive waste in the beautiful state of New Mexico. I also oppose the transport of "spent fuel" across the country by rail, which potentially puts communities across our great nation at unnecessary risk.
Leave nucLear waste where it currently resides! Why put American citizens in grave danger should a train transporting these radioactive spent fuel rods derail?!? Finally Id like to submit the following for scoping comments for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS):
- 1) More alternatives must be analyzed and considered 2) All transportation routes and risks must be analyzed and made public 3) More public meetings should be held along transport routes 4) Impacts of permanent storage must be analyzed 5) Cumulative impacts must be analyzed 6) Exposure risks to individuals must be analyzed 7)
Cracked and leaking canisters must be addressed 8) Holtec must remove all redactions from their Environmental Report 9) A thorough Environmental Justice Analysis must be included.
Please reconsider and explore other alternatives for storing our nations nuclear waste because the majority of residents of New Mexico dont want it here!
