U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION APPROVAL TO OPERATE CLASSIFIED CYBER NETWORKS
Dear Mr. Padgett:
By letter (LES-18-074-NRC) dated June 22, 2018, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession Number ML18186A429), Louisiana Energy Services, LLC, (LES) doing business as URENCO USA (UUSA) requested the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff to review and approve the responses for classified network accreditation.
As Authorizing Official for UUSA classified computer networks, the Department of Energy (DOE)
Nuclear Energy Oak Ridge Site Office (NE-ORSO) has reviewed UUSA's request and has recommended to NRC approval of the UUSA classified computer networks. In order to allow continued operation of these networks, the NRC, in coordination with subject matter experts from DOE NE-ORSO, approves Information System Security Plans (ISSPs) Plant Control Training System and Enhanced Training System, UUSA-PCTS-ETS-ISSP, Revision 4, and Centrifuge Monitoring System (CMS) and Medium Frequency Drive System (MFD),
UUSA-CMS and MFD-ISSP, Revision 2. Based upon this approval, UUSA is authorized to operate the networks identified in these two ISSPs as well as the network described in Plant Control System, UUSA-PCS-ISSP, Revision 1, for the processing up to and including Confidential Restricted Data for three (3) years from the date of this letter.
Also, the Plan of Actions and Milestones for Classified Systems, Revision 1, is approved, with the requirement for UUSA to provide quarterly reports to DOE via the NRC until all actions are complete.
Document Transmitted Contains Security Related Information. When separated from the Enclosure, this document is decontrolled.
