Decommissioning Cost Estimate Discussion:
I discussed with Ms. Ramsey that the basis for her decommissioning funding plan (NUREG/CR
-6477) was now 20 years old and suggested that she perform a direct calculation. That calculating an average inflation rate and using a straight value from the 20-year old NUREG probably was greatly overestimating the amount. I suggested using the format in NUREG
-1757, Volume 3 to submit. There was other issues such as the multiplier being almost twice what it was 3 years ago and that Buildings E3300 and E3335 were removed from the estimate, yet have not been fully decommissioned.
Action Required:
She said she would submit a new cost estimate.
