This revision to the WPPSS Nuclear Plant No.
2 (WNP-2) Hark II Containment Design Assessment Report (DAR) has been prepared for the purpose of:

Describing the WNP-2 plant design capability with respect to the hydrodynamic loading phenomena during safety-relief valve actuations and postu-lated LOCA events;
~
Addressing the remaining open issues identified in the original report (Reference 1) and in Ref-erence 2;
~
Identifying the Hark II Owners'roup generic studies to be used in support of the licensing basis of the WNP-2 Mark II containment.

It is to be noted that this DAR describes refinements in load appli-cation methodologies not yet reviewed by the NRC for the Mark II Containment Lead Plants:
(I) Section
- 3. 1.2 and 3.2.2.2 methodolo-

ies are used in the on-going WNP-2 drywell equipment evaluation Section 5.0) and are identified as required technical basis for licensing WNP-2.
(2) Appendices B and C describe submerged struc-ture loading models due to quencher discharges and (3) Appendix E
describes a condensation oscillation source strength model used in the WNP-2 DAR.
The Mark II Owners'roup will be requesting a generic review of these methodologies and models for Mark II plants with Safety Evaluation Reports scheduled for mid-1979.
Early considera-tion of the methodologies identified in Sections
- 3. 1.2 and 3.2.2.2 is requested because of the significance to the continuing assess-ments on WNP-2.
Appendices 8,
C, and E have been requested by General Electric to be treated in a proprietary nature.
Consequently, Appendices B,
C, and E have been sent underseparate cover.
