Letter, R.

H. Engelken to N. 0. Strand, Same Subject, February 21, 1978.

Dear Mr. Engelken:

The referenced letter transmitted the subject IE Bulletin.

The Supply System has requested our architect engineer to determine if our facility utilizes or plans to utilize NAMCO D2400X or EA-170-302 Snap Lock switches in any safety-related equipment in the primary containment.

Our 'architect engineer reports that the subject NAMCO switches are not presently utilized but a proposed design is expected to utilize the subject limit switch on a valve within the primary containment.

The contractor proposing this design states that the NAMCO switch wi 11 be the newer environmentally qualified version.

Drawing approval will be contingent upon assurance that the switch is qualified for the loss of coolant accident (LOCA) conditions.

If there are further questions, please advise.
