Face to Face Meeting with Arapaho and Shoshone Tribes Date:

Wednesday, June 27, 2018 3:26:37 PM Paul:

I spoke to Ryan Schierman from WYDEQ late yesterday and he spoke to Cy Lee earlier in the day. Cy Lee was able to reach out to both the Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone tribal leadership regarding the possibility of a face-to-face meeting between the two tribes and the NRC. Both tribes declined the offer. Cy Lee indicated to Ryan that leadership in each tribe did have an opportunity to view and listen to the April 26, 2018 webinar. Mr. Lee further indicated that the tribes were forwarding the matter to their legal counsel. The tribes plan to provide written comments.

Outreach to Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho regarding consultation Date:

Thursday, May 17, 2018 12:52:39 PM Duncan I again called both Tribes again today regarding a consultation. Outcome:

  • Eastern Shoshone 307 332-3532: Spoke to Carolyn Shoyo who manages the Business Council. She indicated that Joshua Mann is the person who could arrange for a consultation and bring in the leadership if necessary. His number is 307 335-2081
  • Northern Arapaho 307 332-6120: Spoke to the Chairmans office of the Northern Arapaho. Again I was directed to the THPO to arrange a consultation. THPO is Devin Oldman.

Request to contact Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone Date:

Wednesday, May 30, 2018 11:47:21 AM Importance:

High Hello Duncan:

Per your request yesterday, I contacted both Tribes this morning. I left voicemails in the THPO offices, as there was no pick-up. I also contacted the central line for each Tribe and was again referred to the THPO office. As you have communication with the Tribal representatives who are the liaisons between two Tribal leaderships and the State of WY, I think these persons may provide the best route to determine if there is interest. Since the representatives for both Tribes participated in the teleconference that you held on the webinar slides, they are likely most knowledgeable about the project and have the direct line to communicate to Tribal Leadership.

Sandy
