UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 June 15, 2018 Mr. Robin DeLaBarre Office of Nuclear Energy, Safety
& Security, Room 3320 HST Bureau of International Security
& Nonproliferation U.S. Department of State 2201 C Street, NW Washington, DC 20520
Dear Mr. DeLaBarre:
Enclosed is an application, dated May 23, 2018, received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), from GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy Americas LLC requesting amendment No.
08 to its existing license, XR135/07. The license presently authorizes the export to Taiwan of two 1,350 MWe (4,005 MWt) Advanced Boiling Water Reactors to Taiwan Power Nuclear Units, Lungmen 1 and 2.
The purpose of the amendment is to: 1) change the licensee point of contact, 2) update the address of the Intermediate Foreign Consignee, and 3) extend the license expiration date from June 30, 2018 to June 30, 2023.
There are no changes to the terms and conditions of the existing license being requested.
Therefore, our office is processing this as a minor amendment, and intends to issue the license after the required 30-day review period.
