"A dead turtle was discovered on one of the intake trash racks at approximately 2200 on 6/13/18. The turtle species was unable to be identified by shift personnel. After evaluation by environmental personnel, a notification was made to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources at 0920 on 6/14/18 and the turtle was determined to be a sea turtle of unknown species. The turtle carcass is unable to be recovered for positive identification. This notification is made in accordance with 10 CFR 50.72(b)(2)(xi) due to notification of a state agency."
The licensee notified the NRC Resident Inspector. POC: Brian Hayden 410-495-5910 Notified the R1DO (Schroeder) and Endangered Species group via e-mail.
