June 19, 2018 Mr. Peter Elder Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission P.O. Box 1046, Station B 280 State Street, Ottawa, ON K1P 5S9 Canada
Dear Mr. Elder:
On behalf of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), I would like to extend our warm gratitude for the hospitality we received from CNSC at the 2018 spring Code Application and Maintenance Program (CAMP) meeting in Ottawa, Canada. In particular, the high level of administrative support contributed greatly to a very productive meeting environment.
At the 2018 spring CAMP meeting in Ottawa, our members had the opportunity to (1) share experience with NRC Thermal-Hydraulic (T/H) computer codes to identify errors, perform assessments, and identify areas for additional experiments, model development, and improvement, (2) maintain and improve user expertise, (3) develop and improve user application guidelines, and (4) share experience in the use of the codes to resolve safety and other technical issues. This is the true value of the biannual CAMP meetings, where countries around the world collaborate, communicate, and share experience on the use and development of T/H nuclear safety codes in order to protect the public health and safety worldwide.
We greatly appreciate your hosting the CAMP meeting, along with your colleagues, Dr. David Newland, Dr. Robert Rulko, and Mr. Aleksandar Delja.
We look forward to continued participation and appreciate all CNSCs assistance and contributions to CAMP.
Sincerely,
/RA/
