Location Map for the Clinch River Nuclear Site.docx Good Morning, I have attached a simple location map of the Clinch River Nuclear Site for the benefit of those who are coming late to the tour, and those who might need to exit the tour early in order to catch flights. The approximate travel time from the site to Tyson McGhee Airport is 40 minutes.
In the event of any unforeseen logistical challenges the day of the visit, please make sure to have Kevin Caseys cell phone number (below) handy so that you can contact him directly. His directions to the initial meeting spot at the Melton Hill Dam should be clear, so make sure to bring them with you to help ensure smooth logistics. If you cant reach Kevin, I will keep my cell phone with me so that I can assist, as needed.
Please bring NRC and DOE badges as they will be need to be seen by the ORR representative for the Site 2 visit.

- All, Attached is the itinerary for the June 6 NRC Environmental Visit to TVAs Clinch River Site. We will meet at the Melton Hill Dam parking lot closest to the dam at 0800 to begin the tour. As noted, the tour will include observation of Alternate Site 8 from the Melton Hill Dam overlook, drive through Alternate Site 2 and the potential barge landing area, and then begin a tour of the Clinch River Site with stops as noted on the itinerary. The itinerary is only a guide and can be adjusted as needed and/or as discussions or weather dictate. It is our understanding Mr. Meyer will join us at the CRN site around 1000.
2 Please wear sturdy hiking boots/shoes, long pants, and a long sleeve shirt and hat are recommended. Hardhats are not required for this visit. A safety briefing and pre-job brief will be held at the Melton Hill dam.
The Melton Hill Dam is located off Interstate 40 West from Knoxville, exiting at state road 95 North, exit 364. Proceed north on 95 about 1.5 miles and turn right onto Woodlawn Road (at the Melton Hill Dam sign) prior to crossing the Clinch River bridge. The parking lot to meet in is the second lot on the left.

Location Map for the Clinch River Nuclear Site (Approximately 40 minutes from Tyson McGhee Airport)
The green dot with a red border marks the location of trailers currently used for a meeting spot at the Clinch River Nuclear Site. The closest current physical address for the site is 1300 Bear Creek Road, but that is actually the location of an Energy Solutions complex. The orange lines show the locations of roads that can be followed to reach/leave the site. The Google algorithm between the site and the airport chooses route 95, but it is windy and hilly. As such, consider using route 58.
