U.S. Nu.clear Regulatory Commission Dear Sirs.
As I understand it the company, Hoitec International, has applied for a license request for high level radioactive materials to transported and stored in New Mexico.
I want to voice my opinion.on this issue:
We do not need radioactive materials to be transported or stored in our area of New Mexico or Texas.
As I understand it the radioactive material. would be transported by railroad through Dallas, TX, Midland, TX and Odessa, TX.
If an accident were to occur with the radioactive material near these towns, it would be the death of our towns, the Permian basin, and the oil industry here in West Texas. This radioactive material can cause death with cancer and birth defects.
Texas and New Mexico should not be a dumping ground for any radioactive wastes. Keep it in the state it is being used. Not here.
Do not want it, do not want it pas.sing through our area.
Thank you for your time.
