Dear Mr. Hollenbeck:
This letter is to inform you of.activities that may occur as a result of a, potential violation of your u.*s. Nuclear Regulatory Commission license issued under Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 55 (10 CFR 55).
On October 2, 1992, the NRC received a report from the Virginia Electric and
- Power Company regarding your reported use of marijuana. A subsequent positive test for marijuana was indicated from a sample provided by you on September 24, 1992.
The NRC.intends to gather more information regarding this occurrence for possible enforcement action as provid~d*bY 10 CFR, Part 2, Appendix C,Section VIII, Enforcement Actions Involving Individuals.
The enclosed letter to Virginia Electric and Power Company requests this inform*ation.
Compliance with the Fitness-For-Duty guidelines of 10 CFR Part 26, Appendix A, is a condition of your individual operator's license.
You were *provided, via Generic Letter.91-16, dated October 3, 1991, a copy of the applicable amendments to 10 CFR Parts 2 and 55 that were in effect on the date the positive test results were reported.
The descriptions therein will provide you with infor-mation regarding potential NRC actions in this matter.
You will be advised by separate correspondence of any additional action the NRC deems necessary.
