SURRY INITIAL RETAKE EXAMINATION REPORT NO. 50-280/0L-91-02 On March 5, 1991, the NRC administered examinations to employees of your company who had applied for licenses to operate your Surry Nuclear Station.
At the conclusion of the examination, the preliminary findings were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the enclosed report.
We call your attention to the weaknesses identified in Section 4 of.
We are particularly concerned with your AOP on excessive RCS leakage not directing a manual reactor trip prior to manual initiation of Safety Injection when this event may include an ATWS condition. Within 3 O days, please provide this off ice with a technical justification for your approach.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosu~es will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
