VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY RICHMOND, VIRGINIA 23261 March 22, 1991 United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attention: Document Control Desk Washington, D. C. 20555 Gentlemen:

VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY SURRY POWER STATION UNITS 1 AND 2 NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNITS 1 AND 2 EMERGENCY RESPONSE DATA SYSTEM Serial No.

NO/RBP Docket Nos.

License Nos.

90-681A RO 50-280 50-281 50-338 50-339 DPR-32 DPR-37 NPF-4 NPF-7 On November 10, 1989 (Serial Number 89-647), Virginia Electric and Power Company voluntarily agreed to participate in the NRC's Emergency Response Data System (EROS). On October 25, 1990, the NRC sent us a survey requesting detailed hardware, communications, data point, and administrative information to assist the NRC's contractor in designing the EROS system interface. On December 21, 1990 (Serial Number 90-681 ), we informed the NRC we would respond to the survey by April 15, 1991.

The survey information for North Anna and Surry Power Stations as well as the data point library for North Anna Power Station will be available April 15, 1991. However, only 80 percent of the data point library for Surry Power Station will be completed at that time. Following discussions with your staff, it was determined that the survey results will be submitted in two parts. The first part will be submitted by April 15, 1991, and will include survey information for both stations, the data point library for North Anna and the completed portion of the data point library for Surry. The second part will be submitted by June 15, 1991, and will include the remaining sections of the data point library for Surry.

If you have any questions concerning this matter, please contact us.
