SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSE TO NRC NOTICE OF VIOLATION INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-280, - ;.281/89-12 89-436A RO 50-280 50-281 DPR-32 DPR-37
- In response to a violation cited in Inspection Report No. 89-12, we committed (in letter Serial No.89-436 dated July 6, 1989) to marking cable trays to indicate whether covers were required. This method of identifying required cable tray cover locations was intended to serve as a backup to station drawings, specific~tions, and procedures, which were also revised in response to this violation. Cable tray marking has be.en completed with the exception of Unit 1 cable trays in containment.
Marking of Unit 1 cable trays had initially been planned to be completed during the Cycle.1 O refueling outage. Due to the significant amount of work currently scheduied for this outage, we intend to modify the schedule for completion of this activity to more efficiently apply resources. Where scaffolding has been or will be erected.for other work or where the cable trays are safely accessible by ladders, we intend to complete marking of those cable trays. Cable tray marking not completed during this outage will
. be rescheduled for future refueling outages. During the outage, surveillance is routinely scheduled to be performed to verify that the req*uired cable tray covers are properly installed.
