NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION EMERGENCY OPERATING PROCEDURE INSPECTION SURRY POWER STATION APRIL 2 TO APRIL 12. 1990 DOCUMENT REQUEST Sun)' Power Station Post Office Box 315 Sun)', Virginia 23883 VIRGINIA POWER On March 9, 1990, I sent to you via Federal Express copies of the Surry Power Station Rev. 1 A Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) and associated documentation pursuant to a request from Bob Shin. Attachment 1 summarizes the information which was requested and provides a key to where it can be found.
The package consists of several notebooks organized into eight volumes.
Volume I is the EOP procedure set and consists of 47 notebooks. Each EOP procedure is in a separate notebook (44 notebooks) which also includes the verification, validation and setpoint deviation documents for that procedure.
The Critical Safety Function Status Trees are included in one notebook with supporting documents.
One of the two remaining notebooks includes a compilation of the step deviation documents; the other notebook includes the Deviation Basis documents.
Per Bob Shin's request, Volume II contains the Fire Contingency Action (Appendix R) Procedures. These procedures are not a part of the EOP set and are scheduled for future upgrading as part of the Technical Procedure Upgrade Program (TPUP).
Volumes Ill through VIII include simulator scenarios, transition procedures and documentation of the programmatic framework for developing and maintaining the procedures.

Mr. Paul Kellogg e Page 2 March 12, 1990 As the result of a recent self-assessment, the annunciator procedures referenced in the EOPs are being upgraded to a dual column format. The documents sent in the package include 177 procedures which had been upgraded. The remainder of the procedures should be upgraded and available for your use when you arrive at Surry on April 2.
The Abnormal Procedures referenced in the EOP procedures are in a two column format and are also in the process of being upgraded with a scheduled completion date in 1991. We will have a duplicate set of documents onsite for the team appropriately annotated to indicate the documents which have been upgraded or otherwise changed.
