e VIRGINIA. ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY RICHMOND, VIRGINIA 23261 March 1, 1990 United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Serial No.90-070 Attention: Document Control Desk NUISI/FPB:vlh Washington, D. C. 20555 Docket Nos. 50-280 50-281 License Nos. DPR-32 DPR-37 Gentlemen:

VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY SURRY POWER STATION UNITS 1 AND 2 1989 ANNUAL STEAM GENERATOR INSERVICE INSPECTION REPORT Surry Technical Specification 4.19.F.b requires the complete results of steam generator tube inservice inspections to be reported on an annual basis for the period in which the inspection was completed. Although steam generator inservice inspections were not required to be performed at Surry Power Station in 1989, one tube (Row 41 Col 28) in the Unit 2 "A" steam generator was replugged in response to industry experience regarding mechanical tube plug failures and an adjacent tube (Row 41 Col 27) was inadvertently plugged on the hot side only. No tubes were plugged in 1989 based on inservice inspection results.

Very truly yours, J.L~~~
