88-138 Rl 50-280 50-281 DPR-32 DPR-37 The subject bulletin requested licensees to perform inspections of their facili_ties to ensure all GE latching-type HFA relays installed in Class IE (safety related) applications have adequate latch engagement. *Relays that failed to meet the specified acceptance criteria provided in the bulletin were required to be repaired or replaced.
Concurrent with ongoing commitments to inspect and/or replace GE HFA relays as specified in our supplemental response to IEB 84-02 (Ser 87-488 dated September 4~ 1987), no GE HFA latching type relays were identified as installed or spares for safety-related applications. Six non-safety related GE HFA latching type relays were identified in each unit. These relays are installed as generator breaker multiplying relays.
Replacement of these relays with post-November 1987 manufactured relays was completed during the present outages. Since these relays were replaced and not subject to the Bulletin, no inspections were required or performed.
