These revisions change the tables which reflect minimum staffing requirements for emergencies at both the Surry and North Anna power stations. The revision to Table 5.1 is provided in Attachment 1 (Surry Power Station) and Attachment 2 (North Anna Power Station). Attachments 3 through 6 provide the supporting justification which demonstrates that although the focus for ensuring timely augmentation of emergency response capability is shifted, overall emergency response capabilities are maintained at an equivalent level. We would appreciate your review of this request.
This request is made pursuant to 1 O CFR Part 50.47(b) and is designed to meet the intent of the rule through the implementation of an alternate methodology.
This request is not being made pursuant to 1 O CFR Part 50.54(q) as we have determined this revision does not decrease the effectiveness of the plans.
