VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY SURRY POWER STATION UNIT NO. 2 WITHDRAWAL OF ASME SECTION XI HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE TEST RELIEF REQUEST Serial No.
94-391A NO/ETS Docket No.
50-281 License No. DPR-37 On June 22, 1994 Virginia Electric and Power Company requested relief from the post-replacement hydrostatic test requirements for Auxiliary Feedwater System check valve, 2-FW-172 due to system configuration and required test boundaries.
Subsequent to this request on October 14, 1994, the NRC approved with certain provisions the use of Code Case N416-1, "Alternative Pressure Test Requirement for Welded Repairs or Installation of Replacement Items by Welding, Class 1, 2, and 3 Section XI, Division 1," at Surry Power Station.
Since this Code Case provides an alternative to post-repair hydrostatic tests, the relief request is no longer necessary. Therefore, the relief request regarding the post-replacement hydrostatic test requirements for Auxiliary Feedwater System check valve, 2-FW-172, is being withdrawn..
