NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-280/94-06 AND 50-281/94-06
This refers to the inspection conducted by Morris W. Branch of this office on
February 6 through March 5, 1994.
The inspection included a review of
activities authorized for your Surry facility. At the conclusion of the
inspection, the findings were discussed with those members of your staff
identified in the enclosed report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within
these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures
and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of
activities in progress .
Within the scope of the inspection, violations or deviations were not
identified.
An unresolved item was identified relating to interpretations of 10 CFR 50.59.
This item is discussed in paragraph 3 of the enclosed Inspection Report.
At
the next counterpart meeting between the NRC and Virginia Electric and Power
Company, we will be conducting discussions to fully understand your position
and to resolve these differences.
Pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice", a copy of this
letter and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
