MAINTENANCE RULE BASELINE TEAM INSPECTION (NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-280/97-01 AND 50-281/97-01)
Dear Mr. O'Hanlon:
The purpose of this letter is to announce our maintenance rule baseline inspection at your Surry facility.
We have scheduled this inspection for January 13-17. 1997.
The designated inspection team leader. Ron Gibbs. will make arrangements with your staff to telephonically discuss the inspection plans in more detail.
The inspection objective will be to evaluate the effectiveness of your implementation of the requirements of 10 CFR 50.65.
The inspection will be conducted using Inspection Procedure 62706. "MAINTENANCE RULE." and wi 11 involve a team of at least four inspectors and two support staff members.
The team will require information about your program and its implementation for their in-office preparation for the inspection. A description of the information that is needed is outlined in the enclosure. This information will be needed by December 27. 1996 in order to support the inspection effort.
