INTEGRATED PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT PROCESS - NRC TEAM INSPECTION
Dear Mr. O'Hanlon:
The purpose of this letter is to announce an inspection of your Surry Power Station using the Integrated Performance Assessment Process (!PAP).
We have scheduled the on-site phase of the inspection for the periods of February 26-March 2 and March 11-15, 1996.
The inspection objective will be to develop an integrated perspective of performance strengths and weaknesses based on a review of objective information; to validate preliminary conclusions about safety performance through an independent, performance-based, on-site inspection; and to develop inspection recommendations based on findings.
In addition, the !PAP will be used to develop feedback on the effectiveness and implementation of our regulatory programs.
The inspection team will consist of a team leader and five or six inspectors.
Mr. Peter Koltay from the Special Inspection Branch, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, has been designated as the team leader.
