VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY SURRY POWER STATION UNIT 1 STEAM GENERATOR TUBE INSPECTION 15 DAY REPORT Planned inservice inspection of the Surry Unit 1 "A" steam generator was completed during the 1997 refueling outage. In accordance with Surry Power Station Technical Specifications, Section 4.19.F.a, this letter provides notification of the number of steam generator tubes that were plugged during the outage. The following five tubes were plugged:

1 32 14 Column "A" Steam Generator Tubes Plugged Indication 35 Preventively plugged due to tube restrictions 36 Preventively plugged due to tube restrictions 37 Preventively plugged due to tube restrictions 68 Preventively plugged due to Anti-Vibration Bar (AVB) wear 85 Preventively plugged due to permeability variations No new commitments are being made as a result of this letter.
