87-593B 50-338 50-339 50-280 50-281 NPF-4 NPF-7 DPR-32 DPR-37 In your letter of September 16, 1987, the USNRC requested additional information concerning Virginia Electric and Power Company's response to Item 4.2, parts 3 and 4, of Generic Letter 83-28.

These items pertain to life cycle determination and replacement of the Reactor Trip Breakers (RTBs) and/or breaker components consistent with the determined life cycle.

In our letter of January 15, 1988 (Serial Number 87-593A), we said that the Westinghouse Owners Group (WOG) is addressing these concerns and we would be able to submit our specific response by March 4, 1988 (based on the release of the WOG report on or about the end of January 1988).

The report from the Owner's Group has not been released, although work is progressing.

At this time, we are not able to provide a firm date for the release of this report or, therefore, our response to the request for additional information.

When the report becomes available from the Owner's Group, we will determine a new response date.

If the report is not available by June 30, '1988, we will provide status updates to the NRC Project Managers for North Anna and Surry on a quarterly basis until a firm date can be established.
