DPR-32 DPR-37 SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSE TO NRC COMPLIANCE BULLETIN 87-02; ITEM 6 As discussed in our letter of January 12, 1988 (Serial Number 87-705) and to complete our response to Item 6, we have evaluated our current procedures and practices to determine if any further actions are needed to be taken to assure continued compliance with fastener specifications and requirements.
Based on this review, we are implementing the following actions:
- 1.
Investigation of the feasibility of reducing the number and types of fastener materials stocked to minimize the possibility of incorrect fastener selection.*
- 2.
Development of purchasing specifications for each pressure boundary fastener type to facilitate a more thorough review of purchase order documentation (i.e., Certified Mill Test Reports, Mill Test Reports, and Certificate of Conformance) against the appropriate ASTM/ASME specification.
We intend to complete these corrective actions by September, 1988.
