e UNITED STATES ~'UCLEAR REGULATOqv CONIM!"SI0N WITHDRAWAL OF APPLICATIONS FOR A~ENDMENTS TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSES VIRGINIA ELECTPIC ANO POWER CO~PANY DOCKET NOS, 5Q-~8o AND 50-?.81 "759()-01 The United States Nu,le~r Regulat~ry r.ommi~~ion (the Commission) has granted the reouest of Virginia Electric and Power Company (thP. 1icensee) to withdraw thP.ir application dated July 14, 1986, as supersed~d June 3, 1987, for the Surry Power Station Unit Mos.. 1 and ?, loca.ted in Surry County, Virqinia.
The proposed amer~ments would have revisPd Section 6 of the Surry Techni-cal Specificatio~s to reflect the 1icensPe's reorganization in which the Quality Assurance Organization would repnr~ to the Senior Vice President - Engineering and Construr.tion, rather than to thP. Senior Vice President - Power Operations.
Also, it would have rP.vised the titles. of several on-sitP. and off-site managers and supPrvisors and would have ~e1eted the Director-Nuclear Training position.
The Commission i~suP.d. Notices of Consideration of Issuance o-F Amendments in the FEDERAL REGISTER on August 13, 19R6 (51 FP 29015) and on November 4, 1987 (52 FR 42372).
Ry letter dated January 25, 1988, the licensee requested, pur-suant to 10 CFR 2.107, permission to withdraw their applir.ation for the proposP.c amendments.
The basis for withdrawai of the application was that the r.hange request has been superseded by a recent executive reorganization involving the consolidation of the SP.nior Vice President positions for Engineering ~nd Con-struction and Power Operations.
The Coiw.iission has cor.siderP.d t.he licensee's Januar.v 25, 19R8 request and has determined that pemission to withdraw the July 14, 1986 appli~ation, as superseded June 3, 1987, should bP. granted.
