Warren Buffett This pretty much sums up the argument against the proposed radioactive waste dump near Hobbs, NM.

Everything could be fine for a long time, and then all it takes is one bad move to ruin "everything" for "everyone" in the area. Our community can "diversify" its economy without including a nuclear waste dump.

We have lots of sunshine and wind in the area that can be harvested in such a way to create jobs. As for those communities across the country (and abroad) who opted to put nuclear energy on the table, they must now feast on the consequences of "their" actions, not us!
