SUMMARY
OF MEETING WITH VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY (VEPCO)
REGARDING SECURITY PLANNING A meeting was held on September 2, 1986, in Bethesda, Maryland with representatives of the NRC staff and VEPCO regarding the security planning at Surry and North Anna stations.
VEPCo made a presentation of their Security Planning and requested the staff to.comment on their program.
A copy of their presentation material is provided in Enclosure 1. A listing of attendees is provided in Enclosure 2.
During the discussion it was obvious that VEPCO and the staff had different opinions about the interpretation of the word "detection" used in the regulations.
The staff agreed to provide additional' references in support of the staff's position. Also, VEPCO is going to discuss internally in order to establish a corporate position.
The meeting was very helpful in clarifying the concerns identified by the staff.
