PO Box 5184 Hobbs, NM, 88241 Email: faithnu3.4@gmail.com General Comment The area in the State of New Mexico that you are wanting to store the Holtec High-Level Nuclear Waste is not safe enough to protect the surrounding population, the water sources, the plant life and the air. Are you closing your eyes and ears to the information on the dangers of housing the Holtec High-Level Nuclear Waste near an area that has had sink holes? What kind of geological studies are being done? If those studies have been done and those studies indicate danger, why are you ignoring those studies?
Our family has been in this area for centuries. We would like to stay healthy for the rest of our lives and have the lives of our future families to be safe. This storage facility is threatening the future of our families. What studies have been done to evaluate the possibility of cancer causing leaks?
Our government is suppose to protect our interest and this is a huge danger for all of us in this area. How is this storage facility going to affect the dairies in this area, the farmer's produce and the animals raised on the ranches in this area?
My family is totally against this Holtec High-Level Nuclear Waste storage facility. We hope and pray that our government representatives will look at the face of their constituents and see who will be affected negatively by the opening of this facility. Our area representative's decision should be to SAY NO! to the Holtec High-Level facility. The economical benefit is not be enough to offset the death of our communities physically as well as economically. Please stand up for safety the citizens in this area.
