PUBLIC SUBMISSION As of: 5/24/18 9:05 AM Received: May 16, 2018 Status: Pending_Post Tracking No. 1k2-936h-jg7f Comments Due: May 29, 2018 Submission Type: Web Docket: NRC-2018-0052 Holtec International HI-STORE Consolidated Interim Storage Facility Project Comment On: NRC-2018-0052-0001 Holtec International HI-STORE Consolidated Interim Storage Facility Project Document: NRC-2018-0052-DRAFT-0072 Comment on FR Doc # 2018-06398 Submitter Information Name: Anonymous Anonymous General Comment I do not consent to transporting our nations highest level nuclear waste (none of which New Mexican's benefitted from) to New Mexico. This waste should stay where it's currently located until the communities benefiting from it can come up with solutions for the waste created in their community. The immense amount of risk of contamination of our lands, air, and aquifers should be reason alone to rule out the transporting of waste across the country and through densely populated areas. We need to consider future generations safety

& health. Their fragile futures are at stake. The risk of contamination, rail derailment, or other environmental impacts are far too great to make this project worth the risk. Workers health, civilians health, wildlife, livestock, plants, water sources, are all so vital to our survival and need not be put in such danger. We need to protect our fragile ecosystem at all costs & this is a reckless and short sighted project that will financially benefit few. The jobs created likely won't be going to locals and are far too few to make that an argument in favor of going ahead with this disastrous project. Please listen to the people, we have spoken: we do not consent to HOLTEC's proposal & ask that you, the NRC not accept their proposal and halt this project.
