85-460A NO/DJF:acm Docket Nos. 50-280 50-281 License Nos. DPR-32 DPR-37 On July 9, 1985, we responded to the specific violations identified in IE Inspection Report Nos. 50-280~ and 50-281/85-14.

As part of the corrective steps to be taken to avoid further violations, applicable station procedures would be modified to ensure that security personnel will be made aware of the potential degradation of vital area barriers during maintenance activities.

These procedure revisions were to be completed by August 30, 1985.

The procedures involved are presently in the revision process but the revisions will not be completed by August 30, 1985.

In order to facilitate a proper review and approval of the revisions to the procedures additional time will be required.

Confirming a telephone conversation between your Mr. Virgil L.

Brownlee and our Mr. David J. Fortin a date of September 30, 1985 for completion of the procedure revisions is acceptable.
