AND STATISTICAL DNBR METHODOLOGY Vepco has developed a methodology for controlling axial power skewing in reactor cores. This methodology, known as 11Relaxed Power Distribution Control,

11 is described in topical report VEP-NE-1 which was submitted in our December 10, 1984 letter from Mr. W. L. Stewart to Mr. H. R. Denton (Serial No.

We intend to apply the methodology of RPDC to the North Anna and Surry plants in mid-1985.

This letter proposes a meeting between Vepco and the NRG to answer NRG questions concerning the RPDC methodology.

In an independent effort, Vepco is also developing a statistical DNBR analysis capability.

As a supplement to the meeting proposed above, we would like to obtain the NRG perspective on the licensing of statistical methods.

Vepco proposes that the meeting to discuss these items be held at your Bethesda offices at 10:00 A.M. on January 22, 1985.
