057A NO/JDH/lms Docket Nos. 50-280 50-281 License Nos.DPR-32 DPR-37 VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY SURRY POWER STATION UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION ON ICCI SYSTEMS In response to a recent request by the NRC Surry Project Manager, we have reviewed the information provided in our March 23, 1984, letter (Serial No.-047B) for North Anna pertaining to instrumentation for detecting inadequate core cooling.

We find that the technical information regarding the inadequate core cooling systems provided in that letter is applicable to Surry.

However, the statements regarding operability, implementation schedules, and additional submittals are not applicable.

This latter type of information is contained in our correspondence on ICCI previously submitted on the Surry dockets.

We believe that this information will allow you to complete your Safety Evaluation on this issue for Surry.
