VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY SURRY POWER STATION UNIT NOS. l AND 2 NUREG-0737 ITEM II.F. l.6 Serial No.:
PSE/RCC:0332C Docket Nos. :
License Nos.:
l 11 50-280 50-281 DPR-32 DPR-37 In our letter serial number 2278, dated June 23, 1982 we stated that item II.F.1.6 of NUREG 0737 would be complete by March l, 1983.
During final start up testing of the hydrogen analyzer heat tracing it was discovered that three (3) of a total of fourteen (14) circuits failed to achieve the heat up temperature of 250° Fahrenheit in the required 20 minute time.
However, all three circuits did eventually achieve the final temperature.
The heat trace vendor was contacted and after a review of his design has verbally indicated to Vepco that additional heat trace will be required for the circuits that failed to heat up properly.
Vepco requests an extension for the implementation of NUREG 0737, Item II.F.l.6 from March l, 1983 to April 15, 1983 do to the additional testing, procurement and replacement of heat tracing circuits.
If you have any questions or require additional information please contact us.
