TESTING OF SURRY AND NORTH ANNA POWER STATIONS EARLY WARNING SYSTEM Pursuant to NUREG 0654 Rev. 1 and related topics in 10 CFR Part 50, the Virginia Electric and Power Company's (VEPCO) Nuclear Power Stations will undergo a full-scale test of the Early Warning Systems.
The tests will be conducted by the Commonwealth of Virginia's Office of Emergency and Energy Services (OEES).
The tests are scheduled for 1100 hours0.0127 days <br />0.306 hours <br />0.00182 weeks <br />4.1855e-4 months <br /> January 19, 1982, for the North Anna Power Station and 1100 hours0.0127 days <br />0.306 hours <br />0.00182 weeks <br />4.1855e-4 months <br /> January 20, 1982, for the Surry Power Station.
The tests are being conduc1"ed in order to verify that the Early Warning Systems are capable of perfobning to design criteria.
The siren systems will be activated for one minute or less on their scheduled test dates.
VEPCO and the OEES will disperse observers both with and without audiometers to verify the operability and design range of the Early Warning (siren) Systems.
