EARLY WARNING SYSTEM SURRY POWER STATION PSE&C/JEW Docket Nos.:

DPR-32 DPR-37 This letter is to inform you that the Early Warning (Siren Alerting)
System has been constructed at Surry Power Station to comply with Appendix 3 to NUREG-0654 and is now operable.
Installation and testing of the siren system for the entire ten (10) mile radius Emergency Planning Zone was completed and the system placed in service on October 26, 1981.
As noted in Vepco letter Serial Number 391 dated June 25, 1981, an integrated test of the system has been tentatively scheduled by the Commonwealth of Virginia, State Office of Emergency and Energy Services for November, 1981.
The State Office of Emergency and Energy Services wi 11 coordinate this test with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
