VrQOINIA ELECTRIC.AND POWER CoM'.PA.NY RICHMOND,, VIRGINIA 23261 R.H. LEASBURG VrcE PRESXDENT NucLE.b.R OPERATIONS Mr. Harold R. License Nos.

SUBJECT:
QUALIFICATION OF INSPECTION, EXAMINATION, AND TESTING AND AUDIT PERSONNEL (Generic Letter 81-01)
A review has been conducted of the two Regulatory Guides relating to the subject personnel. It has been determined that no commitments are required to comply with the requirements set forth in Regulatory Guide 1.146 as compliance has already been achieved.
Concerning Regulatory Guide 1.58, Qualification of Nuclear Power Plant Inspec-tion, Examination, and Testing Personnel, we find that insufficient time has been allocated to perform an adequate review.
Due to the nature of the Quality Assurance Department organizational structure, certain areas are affected by R. G. 1.146 while others may be impacted upon the completion of the review of R.G. 1.58.
We anticipate that our review of R.G. 1.58 will be complete on or about August 31, 1981 at which time a submittal will be made delineating any commitments which may be required.
