DPR-37 NPF-4 NPF-7 SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION SURRY POWER STATION UNITS NO. 1 AND NO. 2 AND NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNITS NO. 1 AND NO. 2 In our letters dated May 15, 1980 (Serial No. 400) and March 6, 1981 (Serial No. 109), we proposed changes to the Technical Specifications for Surry Units No. 1 and No. 2 and North Anna Units No. 1 and No. 2 to permit increases in the enrichment limit for new fuel.

In response to a verbal request from a member of your staff, Vepco provided answers, in our letter dated March 26, 1981 (Serial No. 195), to several questions on the effects of extended fuel burnups on accident source terms and iodine spiking.

Further clarification of the experimental methods for deter-mining the fuel handling accident analysis decontamination factor, the con-tinued. validity of this decontamination factor for extended burnups and the core inventory of Krypton-85 at 20,000 MWD/MTU was requested by your staff and our response is attached.

The responses in the attachment contain information proprietary to Westinghouse Electric Corporation and in order not to delay the submittal of the requested information, we will comply with the requirements of 10CFR2.790 to provide proprietary and non-proprietary versions together with an affidavit specifically identifying the proprietary information.

We are requesting Westinghouse to specifically identify the proprietary information and to supply the required affidavit and they have advised us that they will be able to respond within one week of receipt of the request.

We will submit the total required number of copies of the proprietary and non-proprietary versions at that time.

Until that time, we are providing you with sufficient copies (4) of the proprietary information to initiate your review.

Westing-house has advised us that this procedure has been discussed with Mr. E.

Shomaker of the NRG Executive Legal Department and that he concurs with this procedure.
