e VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY RICHMOND., VIRGINIA 23261 R.H.LEASBURO VIC];: P:R1'SID1'NT NUCLEAR Q:p:i,::RATIONS July 6, 1981 Mr. Harold R. Denton, Director Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Attn:
Mr. Darrell G. Eisenhut, Director Division of Licensing U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D. C.
20555 Gentlemen:
Serial No. 410 NO/DWL:acm Docket Nos. 50-280 50-281 50-338 50-339 License Nos. DPR-32 DPR-37 NPF-4 NPF-7 NUREG-0737 POST-TM! REQUIREMENTS REVISION TO ITEM II.F.1 SCHEDULE In our response to NUREG-0737, "Post-TM! Requirements", dated December 15, 1980 (Serial No. 985), Vepco requested a schedule exception for Item II.F.l.
In a letter to the NRC dated May 29, 1981 (Serial No. 333), Vepco provided a clarification of our position regarding this schedule exception in order to address NRC concerns.
As a result of a July 1, 1981 phone conversation with Mr. Robert A. Clark of the NRC, Vepco has agreed to revise our May 29, 1981 connnitment on Item II.F.l to establish a schedule which is acceptable to the NRC staff.
Accordingly, Vepco shall have available for staff review design information, drawings and procedures required by Item II.F.l (Parts 1 and 2) by September 1, 1981.
Our previous commitment to meet the final implementation date of Item II. F.1 remains unchanged.
Currently, about 80% of the design information specified by Item II.F.1 (Parts 1 and 2) is available for review as per the documentation requirements of Item II.F.l. Additionally, much of this information has also been submitted to the NRC via a recent update to our NUREG-0737 response dated June 18, 1981 (Serial No. 358).
The information not available at this time consists primarily of final drawings.
However, as previously stated, the information required will be available by September 1, 1981.
Very truly y~urs,
- 111/k R.H. Leasburg Vice President - Nuclear Operations
