VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANX RJc:S:MOND,VJ:RGXNIA 23261 March 19, 1981 Mr. Harold R. Denton, Director Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Attention:
Mr. Steven A. Varga, Chief Operating Reactors Branch No. 1 Division of Licensing U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D. C.
20555 Gentlemen:
Serial No. 184 NO/WRM Docket Nos. 50-280 50-281 License Nos. DPR-32 DPR-37 In a letter dated November 20, 1980 from Mr. Darrell G. Eisenhut to all power reactor licensees, we were requested to submit within 120 days a license amendment application to incorporate applicable portions of the revised Standard Technical Specifications pertaining to inservice surveillance require-ments for snubbers.
While the model Technical Specifications requirements provided in the Novem-ber 20, 1980 letter are in the format of the Standard Technical Specifications, the Surry Technical Specifications are not in the format of the Standard Technical Specifications.
The conversion of the revised Standard Technical Specifications requirements of the November 20, 1980 letter to the format of the Surry Technical Specifications is requiring a considerable investment of time and effort.
In addition, we are completing a revision of the listing of safety related snubbers contained in the Surry Technical Specifications.
We anticipate the submittal of the license amendment application package which includes both of the above items on or about April 20, 1981.
If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact this office.
